What’s the fascination with the word ‘aura’?

I believe it all started with the mildly talented reality show contestant.

Malaysians just love underdogs (if you can call them ‘underdogs’) or may be not underdogs but people who are less capable than the obvious choice.

Malaysians will vote them into place and we all end up in a mess.

And today, the word aura is being used to glorify all types of products with no or minimal track record.

And we the consuming public just go along --- accepting without thinking.

Baguslah tu... Hidup mediocre.

Ayah loves me so much

This morning dad called and asked about life, business and everything else...

Dad has always been my hero, my mentor and today when business is expanding and when payment from clients are delayed (biasa lah kan), dad has always been there to back me up financially.

The education system (boarding school in Kuala Kangsar, futher studies in US etc..etc) has sort of robbed dad of quality time with his son (oui...moi).

And with the few years remaining, dad wants to be as close to me as he possibly can.

He is always proud of me and when I’m by his side to attend functions and kenduri-kendara, he would introduce me as his ‘precious’ son.

My dad doesn’t say much, but when he calls to find out how I’m doing, I can’t help but choke and cry a bit because I know he loves me so very much and can never stop worrying about me.

Part Time Vampire

Yes...berilah ruang untuk bernafas....

Lots of running around, presentations, progress reports and chasing for payments lately.

Can’t I just be rich without having to do all these – perhaps a binatang would come and find me oh so adorable and worship me and give me tons of euros / dollars/ riyals and yen -- and best skali, tak payah main.

And belum sempat pun jengok my mom yang kaki bersimin sebab jatuh dalam bilik air.

But working on The Culture of Excellence in the Islamic World” Exhibition to be held at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Tronoh is fun – walau pun berpeluh-peluh.

Lucien De Guise of the Islamic Arts Museum has been so helpful. Begitu juga Prof Dr Tajuddin Rasdi of UTM, Prof Madya Sulaiman Ghani of UiTM and my ex-prefect at MCKK Maka, of AMAL Architect.

Tengoklah gambar-gambar preparation activities for the exhibition that will start on July 14th -- Discussion Chaired by Prof Madya Sulaiman Ghani kat rumah dia in Shah Alam.



More work to be done. Crazy deadlines.

Looks like I will need to engage Mirza for a Reiki session yang boleh meringankan kepala.

The other day Mirza did a Reiki on me ‘long distance’ and menjadi ...

And yes... Last night Rizal and I met an interesting lady from a lobster tying company who is also a part-time vampire... Inilah akibat berada di jalanraya at 3:30 in the morning.

Muluk was the sixth person I met at KLCC today yang komplen pasal apa I tak update my blog.

Well I’ve been extremely busy lately with the UTP Exhibition and a couple more projects.

And one lady actually came up to me and said “apalah gunanya ada blog kalau tak update...”

I wanted to say "suka hati akulah", but my well programmed politically correct face automatically smiled and terkeluar kata-kata "I will do it today" -- and muscle-muscle muka tiba-tiba menguntum senyum seribu ringgit.

Mismatch memanjang

I have been meeting many bright and hardworking entreprenuers. They face the same problem – they lack capital.

And I have been meeting many people who are lazy and always preoccupied with CYA management (Cover Your Ass Mgmt) – and these people have the power to turn things around = access to capital. But they don’t know how to improve things around them and preoccupied nak kayakan diri sendiri.
