Konsumer perlu dilindungi bukan ditekan.

It is not fair and simply not right.

When we subscribe to a service, the service provider must be transparent and provide us with the best service and all the info that we need to know about the service.

I subscribe to the Celcom 3G service, where I can get internet access everywhere tanpa wayar provided ‘signal’ dia ada. And I access internet from my house on top of the hill in Kerinchi pakai service ini.

Since May 5, I ada problem accessing the internet.

On May 10th, I called Celcom’s Careline.

And the lady who answered my call said ‘memang ada masalah dengan 3G service, but should be rectified by May 9th’.

I asked, ‘Tapi sampai sekarang pasal apa I masih tak dapat pakai?’

She checked with the technical people and got back to me 1 minute later and said ‘tempat Encik tak ada coverage..’

Ini yang menyirap darah ni… I said, “But I have been accessing the Internet pakai Nokia 6680, laptop and Dongle over the past 6 months dekat same place, same corner of the living room of my house…”.

Then she said, “cuba switch off phone for 10 minutes lepas tu cuba balik…”

Hari ni 12 May. I can only access my intenet pakai service tu for like 3 minutes then kena re-log-in in balik then re-log-in balik.

Now katalah:

Kita pergi restoran, and order me goreng, kalau me goreng tak sampai, kita kena bayar juga ker?

Kalau kita pergi restoran yang offer all you can eat for RM30, kalau restoran tu tak ada ketam masak sambal, and we told the owner kita nak makan ketam, bukankah responsibility tokay restoran tu cakap awal-awal, yang ketam tak der.

Kalau pergi restoran, kalau kita order milo ais dengan roti canai and later roti canai dah habis, takkan nak bayar untuk roti canai jugak?

Celcom must tell us (thru SMS ker… since they can hantar SMS joke bangang to us), 3G depa tak berjalan lancar.

And most of all. Kalau tak boleh buat service tu, bagilah discount over the period yang ada masalah tu… baru Islamic. Don’t charge us things you tak deliver.. Simple. Ha ni yang gua marah ni… Baru buat medical check-up, nasib baik blood pressure baik.

Mari Berkodak

Mooze & Elin dropped by at the office to give me more pictures from the MCKK Old Boys Weekend.

Sebenarnya, dia dua orang tu nak tunjuk kefotogenikan mereka. Alah... You ingat I tak tahu.

Anyway, depa dua kengkawan I yang amatlah baik.

But I will run away if they start asking me to play 'pictionary'.. Oh tidak...

Enjoy the following gambar by Mooze and Elin..

Sambutan ‘Birthday’ sebelum Birthday

To the people at my office (and the spirit of Mokciknab of Menteng & hubby) and their ‘attachments’ (yes youlah… Cik Yuz, Abang Polis, Nadia, Farah and others yang masuk dan keluar of our lives), thank you for the birthday surprise walaupun my birthday is on May 15.

These people are like family to me oredi.

Thank you for always being there to support all the kebaikan and kenakalan.

Let’s take on the world.

I'm still waiting for my ultimate prezen -- siput sedut masak cili api dengan rebung + sambal petai ngan ikan bilis + kupang rebus + asam tumis ikan parang dan ulam twisties cheeze flavour.

Rancangan seterusnya – “Buletin Hantu”

Bila I tukar channel, terlayan cerita ‘Susuk’ (pasal hantu).

Lepas tu semalam, ada Nek Nak (pasal hantu lagi)

Semalam dalam surat khabar, cerita pasal kutipan ‘Jangan Pandang Belakang’ (memang cerita hantu).

Honestly, I’m just so sick with paparan hantu dan tahyul dalam media Malaysia.

Nasib baiklah pameran hantu dah ditentang habis-habisan.

Kalau nak suruh orang lalai pun, kenalah ada at least 40% mangangkat pemikiran viewers. Nampak gaya, I tengok Animal Planet jerlah. Tak der conflict. Rimau makan kancil, buaya makan zebra dan orang putih gila tangkap ular. At least ada analysis jugak.

Congrats Moqq & Milla

Yes, the above picture from Berita Minggu hari ni.

I tak sempat snap gambar as I was the emcee for the wedding. Cuma sempat ambik gambar bila dah habis wedding. Itu pun blurr… Sebab my camera phone kalau tak cukup cahaya, gambar dia jadi macam hantu.

Anyway, it was a pleasure being the emcee for my good friend Moqq. And a pleasure too ‘working’ on the details of the wedding with Moqq’s dad, Dato’ Seri Haji Mohd Shariff Omar and Moqq’s mom, Datin Seri Barinah and the family. They are a sweet couple indeed and so cool… And Moqq mewarisi the ‘charm’.

It was great to jumpa budak-budak kolek (old boys of MCKK) and also sempat sembah salam to YM Tunku Dato’ Seri Adnan Tunku Besar Burhanuddin, the all time Ayahanda MCOBA and Mak Engku. Pak Engku as always, ada great jokes. Latt Shariman was there too, so were Bullet, Dr Mohazmi, Pijoun, Mon, Kichi and more than half of the Class of 96.

To Moqq and Milla selamat berhoneymoon and yes, I owe you lagu Hetty Koes Endang tu… So bila nak jamming-jamming?

Makcik Krepek of Bangsar

You gave me strength Makcik Krepek…

And here we are spending too much time risau pasal the next project, chasing clients who have the habit of paying 3 months late, relationship yang tak menjadi, sulking, etc, etc.

But this Makcik… inspired me in some ways.

----

It was 11:45 pm. Makcik Krepek of Bangsar, in her late 70s was still selling her krepek and kuih siput from table to table and from one lorong to another.

Sebab kain batiknya diikat senteng, I terpandang betisnya -- thinner than those of the anorexic models on the fashion runways.

She spoke Malay with a Kelantanese slang dengan sing-song yang pekat.

I don’t know her.

But by just looking at her, I realized that we can learn a thing or two about ‘inner strengths’.

That ‘inner strength’ in her made Papa Khalid beli RM10 worth of krepek from her. So did two ‘datins’ who sat 4 tables away from us at Devi’s Corner and many other gentlemen. A man in his 30s asked her to join him for a drink and packed some food for her to take back.

She was so weak. She couldn’t even walk properly. Let alone carry dua bakul kuih.

Well, even if she has that independent spirit in her, at her age, she should not be doing what she is doing. What if budak-budak dadah rompak duit dia?

Before we left, we asked her, “Makcik tak balik lagi?”

She said, “Tunggu saing, tok tahu mano dio…”

Kalaulah dia ada anak dan anak dia tak jaga dia, kita kena pergi jumpa anak itu dan lapun dia dengan belantan. But then, kita tak tahu kisah dia... One day I’ll find out...
