Tips and Advice for Bosses

As s boss, I have neglected some aspects of management -- I failed to put my grooming kit in a safe place.

Because I failed, the following thing happened -- My staff started experimenting with each other using my hair spray, gel, hair brush, mud, etc...(see pix):

And pengajarannya?

1. Alat mencantikkan diri kena under locks and keys.
2. Let your staff know what hair spray can do and how hair spray can change their lives.
3. They (the staff) must know their 'gels'. Apa gel yang sesuai di kepala, apa gel yang sesuai bukan di kepala.
4. Kecantikan adalah hak milik setiap insan -- Sounds familiar?

Di Puncak Fraser's Hill

Pix from www.fotosearch.com

Yes... Me and the gang got back from a 'noti boys' retreat at Fraser's Hill, yesterday. Penat macam nak rak but we had a jolly good time.

We stayed at a 'haunted place' -- and yes, Papa Khalid & I lari from our bedroom and slept in the living room, while the other two perasan macho guys terus tidur in their bedroom tapi takut gak dengan bunyi scratch and knock-knock kat tingkap. But then again hantu takkan nak kacau kitorang (coz we all at times perangai macam hantu gak -- so kira memberlah ni).

And yes, we took lots of pictures and will be posting them soon here.

Most of all, the best part = we all became each others' shrink -- yes psychiatrist tak bertauliah -- solving matters from fascination with dot dot dot to addiction to det det det -- macam-macamlah, mengalahkan UN General Assembly punya masalah.

Till then, looking forward for tea with Morky Moqq on Thursday.

Also, Muluk and I will be going to my buddy Husni's Gemarimba Gallery on Saturday night for the "Quddin playing with POP' show by Taquddin of Leo Burnett.

And BTW, recently I went through a crisis yang "tak lah seterok the Gulf War".

And pengajarannya? It's just good to know who your friends are -- people who would really care for you. At the same time you must identify and keep a distance from people who would just grab whatever they can from you. Also, nama kita amat berharga dan janganlah tergadai nama kerana harta yang tak seberapa. Dan aku bukan untuk dibeli dan kemudian dijual semula setelah kering diperah...

And oh... my horoscope kat yahoo... macam tahu-tahu ajer... see below...

You've jee-ust about had it with putting your nose to the grindstone, and you've just about had it with a certain group of friends. That's really saying something, for you, the most diligent, loyal sign in the heavens. It's like this: You've just discovered (maybe not factually, but emotionally) that you're being taken advantage of, and you're all done with it. The best part is that now that you've made your decision, you can relax, guilt-free. Oh, and by the way, stay mad -- it's energizing

And the forecast for the day to come at www.yahoo.com is so darn accurate (tapi toksahlah percaya sangat kan...). Bagaimana pun for Taurus, see below...

You're famous for being self-sufficient, so when someone you trust implicitly comes to you with advice -- unsolicited advice -- you may feel torn between following their guidance to a tee or listening to your own inner voice. Fortunately, you two are on the same page right now, so all you have to do is to trust in those common denominators, one of which will undoubtedly be to get rid of anyone or anything that's tying you to negative memories from the past.

OK...OK... I'll update

Yer...yer...I memang bersalah... I lama tak update blog...

Image hosting by Photobucket

I've been stopped by ramai orang lately and 'marah' pasal apa tak update blog..

Adoi, bizi giler lah...

And lately ada lots of things on my mind and lots of things 'bothering' me -- entahlah... one day, I'll publish a book that will just shock the world. Till then, sabor jerlah...

Sometimes it's amazing how you can train your brains not to be depressed and pura-pura happpy. But I'm not too sure how long this will last sebelum tercetusnya Hiroshima & Nagasaki.

Anyway, if you are a peminat ikan, I would like to recommend the most effective 'ubat' nak clearkan air dalam aquarium.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Image hosting by Photobucket

It's called ADDCLEAR by Nika. This ubat comes in a container kecik macam Eye-Mo.

Once letak dalam aquarium, mula-mula air akan jadi cloudy but after 24 hours it will be clear.

Cobalah...

HUSNI & LESSONS ON PENJAGAAN IKAN AND AQUARIUM

It was a fun Saturday afternoon.

Me, Papa Khalid and Husni had a great time makan lauk pauk tradisional Negori Sembilan.

Me, Papa Khalid, Husni

You must try this new restoran at Taman Tunku, Bukit Tunku – Right below Habibah’s Warisan Benang Kapas Boutique.

It’s called Pinang Masak and owned by Dato’ Sam – Yes THE Dato’ Samsudin Abu Hassan – the funky corporate figure.

Must try – masak lemak ayam bendi, sambal ikan masin and more.

Dato’ Sam personally attended to all the guests – PR baik punya.

Anyway, after the makan-makan, I had a one-on-one lesson on penjagaan ikan from Husni -- pakar aquarium, ikan and all matters related to the swimming species -- remember he is also a pilot – dia ni nak control daratan, udara and lautan lah gamaknya.

Image hosting by Photobucket

You must see his aquarium – great ecosystem – not like mine – ikan semua gila (macam tuan lah agaknya...)

But before Saturday, on Friday, I had a ‘chronic mental exhaustion’ – tapi belum tahap gila meroyanlah. And today I seriously believe I really need a break.

Image hosting by Photobucket

After the radio show with Azli Paat of DAPAT, I rushed home, put my phone on silence mode and tido the whole day. Woke up masa waktu maghrib – I was simply exhausted -- if only money can fall from the sky and I don’t have to work kan bagus? Macam pennies from heaven (yes... double ‘n’ with an ‘e’).

Anyway, I now will go out and beli dye rambut nak tutup uban – don’t know why but suddenly in the last few days, my uban bertambah dengan banyaknya and I suddenly looked dehydrated...

Laporpo -- Watakungsi -- Landing Time

It's Friday and I berhak jadi sikit tarak betul.

Started this morning on an energetic note on RED 104.9 -- We discussed 'live' on radio -- "something is not right about the supply/demand and the delivery of our kangkong, sawi, bayam, cili etc".

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
Pix from www.fotosearch.com

If things are OK then why are we constantly seeing (yes... almost every year) harga veges naik because hujanlah, flood lah. Don't tell me we can't forecast the weather and use the info to plan the supply. Tak der hedging system ker?. And yes -- on REDFM, we discussed -- things will have to change. If there need to be a Kangkong Futures, Cili Padi Futures. well, buatlah. Why must we still see agriculture in the same way 30 or 40 years ago -- Belanda kalau diberi lagi banyak tanah, lagi banyak tulips yang tahan frost, severe weather and of course tahan serangga perosak dan juga tahan kulat akan dihasilkan. Tanam pokok bertingkat-tingkat dalam rumah ala-kaca tahan ribut (macam mangkuk tingkat buat letak makanan untuk pergi picnic). Why? Sendri kena tau lah brader. (... jangan marah yer.. nanti kena jual..)

Hmm... Silakan AhlilFikir...

Anyway, wanna do a "Jejak Kasih". It's so glad to hear from you again Jamil Taha (siap antar gambar meletop lagi) after many years terpisah after the good ole days at Malay College. Keep reading this blog OK -- semoga terhibur -- bak kata juruhebah RTM -- "kalau merenung bintang di langit jangan lupa rumput di bumi" (apa connection dia? -- suka hati... gasak)

OK.. Since it's Friday, bolehlah tak betul sikit -- so I bacalah Horoscope yang setahun punya... For Taurus, see below and see what I have highlighted -- itu ada kena-mengenalah kot.

Year 2006 Overview

Provided by Astrology.com

Taurus

Image hosted by Photobucket.comPic from www.fotosearch.com

During the early part of the year -- say, from January through March -- you may be bitten by the travel bug. This isn't customary for you, and you don't often have an irrepressible urge to leave everyone and everything you love. Once you've got the fever, though, chances are good you won't want to settle for anything less than a major tour, featuring every spot you've always wanted to visit (...aha... ini macam tau projek gua dengan Razin jer...). Don't deprive yourself. This is your moment to pack lightly (yes, really -- you can do it if you try) and go shopping for experiences rather than objects. Go get 'em!

If you're attached, you'll take your partner along for the adventure, of course. And not just because you'll have lots more fun with your beloved by your side. You'll also want to travel as a pair because you're big on seeing the results of your investments -- and that goes double for the investment of your time. This will be another experience to add to the collection you two have already amassed, and it stands to bring you even closer. If you're single, don't be surprised if you meet someone on the road who has a wonderful accent. In fact, this someone may not be averse to the idea of a long-distance move -- or of taking in a roommate from a far-off place. (...hmmm apa maksudnyer... accent yer... ker educated abroad?... sendri kena taulah) Either way, between the movements of the planets and the influence of eclipses in mid-March and late September, you're likely to be a lot more focused on romance than you have been in quite some time.

Career matters will also move along quite well for you during the early part of the year, most likely due to the influence, support or advice of a female authority figure or elder. (... aha... ini macam fairy godmother atau sugarmummy?... oh tidak... but then...oh betul gak -- i mean the authority/elder figure... ish..ish...ish.. jangan buruk sangka, tak baik) In fact, regardless of the areas of your life that need sorting out, this holds true: Trust the loving, experienced people all around you. They won't lead you astray.

The last months of the year will arrive with some big changes for you, most likely involving the improvement of joint finances and new developments in your intimate partnerships. If you're feeling optimistic around New Year's Eve, it's not by accident. This roll you're on won't be going anywhere for quite some time.

Tiba-tiba terasa macam nak main Trivial Pursuit -- Lagu-lagu 70an. Ceman... Apa lagi?

PREVIEW AT ISTANA BUDAYA

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It was a wet Friday -- rained cats and dogs.

But we made it to Istana Budaya at 8:20 pm (we = me and Papa Khalid).

Met Hazel & Hubby and Husni at the lobby. Bib was a bit late (due to the jam).

Istana Budaya held a preview of what's in store for 2006.

We'll be seeing Lantai T Pinkie (again) soon in April, P Ramlee the Musical in July and The French Art festival in May.

We were treated to highlights from the various musicals.

The beautiful Vanida Imran, Nasha Aziz and many more big names will be in Lantai T Pinkie.

But on that rainy Friday night, Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina, who will be starring in Puteri Gunung Ledang -- The Musical, stole the show. She sang and danced beautifully -- together with Stephen Rahman-Hughes who will be playing Hang Tuah.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

In the audience, they were many big names in the Malaysian Entertainment Industry. Some were mega stars and prima donnas in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

I can't help but being reminded of Sudirman's song, Seniman Tua, when I went to say hello to them. The song was in Sudirman's very first album. I'm not sure who wrote the lyrics, but it sure described the 'seniman' -- kita selalu lupa peranan mereka dalam mengenali diri kita -- panggung perlu lebih tinggi daripada pedestal. Kita selalu lupa. They have enriched our lives.

It goes like this.

Aduhai seniman tua
di pentas semalam ku jumpa
di pinggir pentas kau tersenyum sendiri
kau simpan seribu rahsia

Di waktu kecilku engkaulah
Seniman pujaan semua
Kehadiran mu kini tak siapa yang mahu
begitu sabar kau mengunggu

Hidup mu bagai sabut di air
berbekalkan seni yang kau cintai
Tiada yang ingin tahu kepedihan dilirikan senyum mu
Anak mu lapar dahaga
mengharapkan segala yang kau tiada
kau curahkan jasamu
setiap detik tiada jemu

Aduhai seniman tua
hidupmu kearah mana
getir dan pilu mu tak siapa yang rasa
bagai mana esok lusa?

Yang tinggal seni mu jua
ooo... hormat daripada ku
..

Doktrin Pisau Mokciknab

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com

Yesterday while having brunch with Shazwan & Mokciknab, the lateral thinking Mokciknab came up with a 'perihal pisau'.

It goes like this...

Pisau harus dilihat pada fungsi
Pisau berbesa pada zahirnya
Kalau pisau tumpul gunalah untuk menyapu keju
Jika pisau itu tajam, gunalah untuk memotong daging.

It all started because there was an interesting looking soul seated next to our table but the eyes didn't sparkle (read: not very smart)

Tuan-tuan dan puan-puan, go figure....

Kajian Mokciknab akan dibukukan bersama Muluk's Doktrin of Kalau tak masuk lagi dalam category hodoh, maka diharuskan...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Sometimes when I sleep I can feel (yes while sleeping) that I snore. Sometimes I snore so loud that I can frighten the cockroaches in the kitchen, sometimes so sweet a sound -- macam kitten punya purrr.

So tomorrow at 7 am (Friday, Jan 6, 2006), we will find out more about "Snoring" with my guest Prof Dr Abdullah Sani Mohamed from HUKM on REDFM (104.9).

So do tune in and call in OK
